Mikayla opened Aerial Enchantment at the start of 2018 to combine her love of aerials with her love of teaching kids. She is passionate about instructing and building the confidence of kids & teens in the art of aerial dance. She has completed training through Circus Training Australia in Silks, Lyra, Trapeze, Tumbling and Acro. She is also a certified AntiGravity Level 1 Instructor. Mikayla has completed a certificate III in childcare and loves working with young kids in particular! She has 15 years experience as a dancer and specialises in Aerial Silks, Hammock, Lyra and Contortion.
Rachel is a certified personal trainer, with a certificate 3 & 4 in fitness. Rachel enjoys helping people find their love for fitness and celebrating small accomplishments as it’s not the destination that’s important, it’s the journey! She started her aerial journey 3 years ago, training in hammock, lyra, silks and trapeze. She has been lucky enough to have performed at the Australian Circus Festival. Rachel’s stage name is Mononoke after the cartoon character because she loves anime!
Cate has been doing trapeze for 5 years now and Lyra for about 2 years, she competed in the NSW heat at miss lyra 2019 in the Showtime Category. She has done performances on trapeze and some lyra. Cate also has 25 years of experience in ballroom dancing. Cate started teaching aerials at the beginning of 2020 and loves transferring her silks and knowledge to new students. Everyone will find out her love for her doggy taco…. one of the loves of her life as well as her husband
Holly has been doing Silks for 5 years. Before silks she did gymnastics and loved it but turned to silks for a new challenge. She has recently started training on other aerial apparatus’, such as hammock, trapeze and lyra. She loves teaching kids to concur new challenges as well as becoming stronger individuals!
Laura began her aerials journey in 2018 as one of Aerial Enchantment’s first hammock students. After a few years of hard work, and falling in love with trapeze, she is now one of our instructors! She loves introducing students of all ages and abilities to aerials. When not hanging upside down, she can usually be found cuddling her beloved cat, Stormy.
Hannah has been doing aerials for 6 years, with experience across silks, trapeze and lyra. She loves performing, and some highlights include performing at the Australian Circus Festival in 2019, Eternity Showcase in 2021, receiving the title of Most Creative Performance, and placing first runner up in the 2021 Miss Lyra NSW. Hannah loves sharing her passion for aerials and technique through teaching.
Shelley’s passion for movement started when she was young when her mother enrolled herself and her younger sister in dance classes. This began a 14 year journey of learning, performing – and loving – jazz & tap. After a hiatus from movement where she was working and travelling, she found aerials and never looked back! For the last four years she has trained mainly in Lyra and Trapeze and has competed in Halloween Heaven 2019 on Lyra and performed at the Australian Circus Festival in 2019 as part of a group act on Pentagram. Shelley is excited to join the Aerial Enchantment team and share her love of Aerials with wonderful students!
Christine has been an aerialist for 5 years, she started her journey after series of back related injuries forced her to rethink how she moves her body. Christine is passionate about aerials with her training mainly focused on Trapeze and Lyra followed closely by Hammock and Silks. Christine’s debut solo performance was at Eternity Showcase in March 2021 she has also previously performed at the Australian Circus Festival alongside our Aerial Enchantment instructors – Shelley, Sam, Cate & Rachel.
Grace found her passion for aerials 5 years ago when she was looking for a new fitness challenge after 12 years of netball. She has focused mostly on hammock and silk but has also trained in trapeze and Lyra. Grace is a keen foodie and enjoys having a laugh. She is excited to join the Aerial Enchantment team and hopes to bring plenty of laughs to her students.
Audrey started her aerial journey 8 years ago doing pole dancing for fitness, 4 years later she gave lyra a try and never looked back. After 4 years of lyra Audrey decided it was time to tackle a new apparatus and started learning hammock. Audrey decided to take her aerial journey to the next step in 2021 when she started teaching lyra and hammock where she found a passion in helping her students achieve their aerial goals. Outside of aerials Audrey is a Vet Nurse and is very dedicated to animals, she loves the outdoor and going on bush walk where she constantly looks for somewhere to hang upside down.
